roll/flip/draw is looking to cast two devisor/performers for an online-only project, streaming for two nights in December. The aim of the project is to create a semi-improvised pantomime for Twitch, drawing from tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) in the process. We will be exploring both how to use tools and structures from TTRPGs to generate characters, scenes and narrative, as well as how to emulate the interactivity of panto during an online stream.
You need to be available for at least three of the following R&D sessions. Please note that the following times are all GMT/BST and whilst this opportunity isn’t restricted to people based in any given location, anyone outside a UK time zone might be committing to unusual times.
Sat 28th Nov: 1-5pm
Sun 29th Nov: 12.30pm-4.30pm
Sat 5th Dec: 1-5pm
Sun 6th Dec: 10.30am-1.30pm
You will also need to be available for the following performances:
Fri 11th Dec: 6.30pm call, 8.00pm-9.30pm stream
Sat 12th Dec: 7.15pm call, 8.00pm-9.30pm stream
The above hours will be paid at London Living Wage (£10.75).
The R&D and performance will be done via Zoom call; devisor/performers will therefore need reliable internet connections as well as working cameras and microphones (whether in-built or external). It will be expected that devisor/performers have at least seen pantos and played a TTRPG at some point – a working knowledge of both will be needed for the project.
Due to the TTRPG-inspired nature of the project, roll/flip/draw is not casting for specific roles. How roles are cast, which roles feature in the streams, and suchlike will be decided during R&D. Applications are encouraged from all performers regardless of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity or disability.
If you would like to be considered for one of the devisor/performer roles on this project, please email email@example.com (with the subject heading ‘RPG Panto application’) with a CV or Spotlight link and a cover letter with a couple of short paragraphs on your interest in the project and experience with TTRPGs and panto. The deadline for applications is noon (GMT/BST) on Friday 20th November.
Due to the tight timeline of this project, there will not be formal auditions but you may be asked to have a short zoom call with Chloe, the lead devisor on the project.
If you have any questions about the above email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will reply as soon as possible.
